Opening Tomorrow! Exhibition of Booths to Energize the World Athletics Championships!


The Budapest 2023 World Athletics Championships started on August 19!

The World Championships in Athletics, the world’s premier biennial athletics competition, will be held for the 24th time in 2023, starting tomorrow, August 19, in Budapest, Hungary.

In order to further boost the excitement of what is sure to be the hottest competition yet, and to maximize expectations for the Tokyo 2025 World Championships in two years’ time…

■Experiential booths
On August 24, the day of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games Opening Ceremony, a hands-on booth where visitors can touch and take photos with actual track and field equipment such as hammers, disks, and hurdles will be exhibited at the “TOKYO Para Sports FORWARD,” which will be held at the Tomin Hiroba and other locations to celebrate the second anniversary of the 2023 Games!

Goro Inagaki, Tsuyoshi Kusanagi, and Shingo Katori will appear as guests on a special stage at the TOKYO Para Sports FORWARD. Other guests include top athletes from the world of para-sports, and even the Tokyo 2020 mascot will make an appearance!

■Exhibition Corner
Uniforms and medals from past World Championships in Athletics events will be on display on the second floor of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, as well as panels signed by athletes who have competed in the event.
