“COUNTDOWN TOUR” starts! The monument “created together” will tour around the competition venues

Opening of the Deaflympics… Let’s make the cherry blossoms in full bloom with everyone’s thoughts!

There are just over three months left until the opening of the Tokyo 2025 DEAFLYMPICS. To further increase interest and anticipation for the Games,“TOKYO 2025 DEAFLYMPICS COUNTDOWN TOUR” will be held with original countdown monuments touring the competition venues!
The tour kicks off in Shizuoka Prefecture, the venue for cycling competitions. The departure ceremony and the unveiling of the monument will be held on Sunday, August 3, and then they will travel around the country until November 14 (Friday), the day before the opening, to Fukushima Prefecture, the venue of the soccer competition, and various parts of Tokyo.
The concept of the “Countdown Monument” is “Create together”. The cherry blossoms will be in full bloom with the [origami crane] filled with the feeling of support – It is a design where the support of each person overlaps and exudes excitement towards the Games.

COUNTDOWN TOUR

■Location: Tour around 26 locations (planned), including the TOKYO 2025 DEAFLYMPICS venue

(1) August 3 (Sun) Shizuoka Prefecture (Bicycle)

Countdown Monument

It is a monument that celebrates the opening of the TOKYO 2025 DEAFLYMPICS and displays the number of days left until the Games.
The concept is “Create together”.The cherry blossom monument placed in the background of the words “TOKYO 2025” and the emblem will be filled with [origami cranes] that express their support for the athletes.
With the origami cranes used in the medal design, each person’s thoughts overlap and bloom for the upcoming Games.
The design symbolizes the growing anticipation for the TOKYO 2025 DEAFLYMPICS, which will finally begin.
*Origami cranes will be folded by everyone who comes to each venue of the countdown tour.
